Something not working? Email [email protected] and say which screen you were on and what you expected. The Build number in Settings → App version helps.
Getting started
The app asks for a server address
Cassette plays a library on a server you run — it is a client, not a music service. Enter your server's address on the first screen. If your server is on your own home network, the app has to be on that network too.
"Something answered, but it isn't a Cassette server"
The address resolved to something, but not to Cassette. Check for a typo, and check you are using the address of the server rather than of the web app.
"That server isn't set up for sign-in yet"
The server is running but has no sign-in configured. Whoever runs it needs to set
CLERK_PUBLISHABLE_KEY.
"Couldn't reach that server"
If the address starts with http://, iOS only allows that for a server on your own
network. Use https:// for a server on the internet.
Playback
Playing offline
Open a song's menu and turn on On this phone, or use Download on a playlist to save the whole thing. Saved songs are real files on the device and play in airplane mode. What is saved is listed under Settings → This phone.
Playback stops when the screen locks
It should not. If it does, please report it with your iOS version.
No lyrics on a song
Lyrics come from what your server found when the song was added. Where no timed lyrics exist, there is nothing to scroll, and the app hides the pane rather than showing an empty one.
Your account
Pointing the app at a different server
Settings → Server → Change server. You are signed out, and songs saved to that phone are removed — they belong to the library you are leaving.
Deleting your account
Settings → Your account → Delete your account. It removes everything on the server and the sign-in itself, and cannot be undone. See Privacy.
